Our carob honey is produced from carob trees of Cretan variety at an altitude of 500 – 700 m.
It is a 100% natural local product. It has a dark chocolate brown colour and looks like honey made by bees. It has a pleasant scent, smooth texture and tastes like chocolate and caramel.
It has excellent nutritional value and we can use it instead of honey bee as a natural sweetener to cakes, biscuits, pancakes, doughnuts, ice-cream and bread or add it to sauces for salads. It can replace chocolate and cocoa in bread and flour confectionery.
“Giakoumakis Farms” carob honey comes in a 200 gram glass jar in order to remain fresh until the last drop.
Carob honey is safe to eat because it that doesn’t cause any allergic reactions. However, if you take any medication, take care to avoid unexpected side-effects.
CAROB HONEY IS AN EXCELLENT SWEETENER TO DRINKS.
It is combined with banana or roasted fruits (particularly apples and pears). It can be used as a topping for ice-cream, yoghurt, sweet pies or sponge cakes. Mix it with sesame seed paste, honey and/or chocolate.
It can be added in smoothies with fruit like banana or apple and nuts and is an excellent choice for a healthy breakfast. Cinnamon will add some extra flavor.
